An Akron Landmark in the Making

This car was abandoned in the very first spot of the Akron Public Library parking garage about a year and a half ago. It’s now resting on two flat tires and passers by have begun writing messages in its thick coating of dirt and grime. To me, it’s become a sort of on-going public arts project. Perhaps, some day, they’ll just wheel it across the street to the Akron Museum of Art. At this point, it’s just as likely as someone doing anything about it.
(Note A: I go a little wipe-crazy in this piece. I wanted to use stills on the more interesting messages and figured that was an acceptable way to transition between the still and the moving footage. It’s not often I get to use wipes anymore!)
(Note B: Sorry about the shakiness of the video. It has to do with the Flash player itself, not the video. If you subscribe to the Podcast, you’ll see it’s fine.)
